MQ23 is an architectural firm and takes its name from the few square meters that architects Ilaria Cottu and Francesco Giovannetti decided to share in the historic center of Forli. The studio deals with consulting, design, renovation and construction management, with a RAL1023 yellow soul, like the color in which their work space is immersed.

What were your objectives when you chose the materials to be used for your floor or wall coverings?

The renovation of the apartment involved remodeling the only present bathroom to create a second one inside the master bedroom. Having not particularly generous square footage available, the research was based on products and formats that could characterize the appearance of the two rooms lightly, without weighing them down, but with character.

What made you choose the Tonalite products?

We were looking for a shaded effect, without being afraid to use colors, so Tonalite’s Nuance and Aquarel collections caught our attention right away.

The 15×15 size of the Aquarel tile was perfect for enhancing a small room with a long, narrow shape, creating rhythm and giving continuity between wall and floor.
While the Nuance rosa tiles, in the 7×28cm size, thanks to their delicate touch that contrasts well with the darker color of aviation chosen for the floor, attract the eye, becoming the stars of the room.

What colours and combinations did you choose, and how did you use them?

The colors of the project are 3: green, pink and avio, which recur in all the rooms of the apartment with different combinations.

For the smallest bathroom, the one inside the master bedroom, we chose to use a single tile for floor and wall: the Aquarel tile, size 15x15cm, green color. In this case green is the dominant color of the space, alternating with the white of the sanitary ware and walls and contrasted with a touch of red present in small details such as the mixers, the lamp holders on the sides of the mirrors and the radiator.

For the main bathroom, on the other hand, we juxtaposed the colors avio and pink, using Nuance tile, size 7x28cm, laid running vertically for the shower cladding and juxtaposed with a large format tile (60×120) avio color. In this case the details such as mixer, radiator and towel rack are black and we really like the sharp contrast that the black color creates with the pink Nuance tile.
