In this age of technology, we look to draw inspiration from nature and what is real. PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta descends from the red family, and is inspired by the red of cochineal, one of the most precious dyes belonging to the natural dye family as well as one of the strongest and brightest the world has known.
Rooted in the primordial, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta reconnects us to original matter. Invoking the forces of nature, PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta galvanizes our spirit, helping us to build our inner strength.
Leatrice Eiseman – Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute

The Pantone colour is not just a trend, but an appointment that is renewed every year and inspires the collections and palettes for the following seasons, as you can read in our last article.
Since 2000, punctually every December, Pantone indicates the colour of the year, which serves as colour inspiration for fashion, beauty and design in the 12 months to follow. It is chosen by the Pantone Color Institute, a group of experts in the language of colour that advises brands and manufacturers throughout the year. The choice comes after a meticulous analysis of culture, technology, food, fashion and even international politics: this is how the Pantone Colour of the Year becomes a visual expression of collective sentiment, transcending the confines of the narrow circle of insiders.
Here are those of recent years: 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2018.
This shade of red that points to carmine thanks to a shade of pink can be found in many Tonalite collections. A strong tone that gives a strong personality to design projects by enhancing their inspiration, as for example in the recently published Montalgeto restaurant project.
